SAVANT GARDE was a great way to end my spring break. The 111 Minna Gallery hosted Del Geronimo and Fashion Replant's Fashion Victim 2 show. The designers included Betty Croaker, Kayo, Gibbous Fashions, Nika, Mandrake Designs, Mythica, and Please Dress Up. In the adjacent gallery was Membrane, a performance by Bad Unkl Sista.
The fashions ranged from ready to wear to experimental. Betty Croaker offered many pieces suitable for casual get together or a night out with friends. Gibbous Fashions revitalized Victorian clothes and fitted the new garments with a soul. Kayo Anime Clothing took design queues from anime costumes and street clothes. Please Dress Up brought new life to clothing reminiscent of 1950's Americana. Mandrake Designs' elegant black and white satin theads are sure to turn an eye at a formal occasion. Finally, Little Red Sparrow's (Nika Tang) exhibited her Serenity Collection for both the men and the women.
In the lounge, Bad Unkl Sista's performers wore spectacularly funky and outside the box costume creations.
